Speaking of a thousand ways to run mad, job hunting should be added to the list. That thing can make you scratch the head of a person seated next to you in a matatu thinking it's yours. It can make clicking become a natural way of communicating with nature. I one day boarded a matatu to Westlands, Nairobi, for work. I sat next to a lady who looked almost my age, if I were to judge by appearance. She immediately asked whether I knew where a certain building in Westlands was located. Unfortunately, I didn't. They address almost everything revolving around life, usually with a target in mind. They ridicule, entertain and momentarily drive away stress. I have read and heard people being warned against dating journalists, especially fellow journalists. Some people even say it should be added to the dictionary of dust and among the thousand ways to run crazy. But is it true? Maybe it is. Or maybe it's just another bunch of haters whose genuine happiness is seeing relationships and marriages involving journalist couples fall apart. I am a female journalist, though not married yet. But having worked in the newsrooms of two of Kenya's leading media stations, here's what I would say from that perspective.
