Resenting in Social Media After Breakup, Ain't Cute!

Have you teared pictures, crushed and burnt gifts from your exes after breakup?

Whenever couples break up or end relationships, they tend to let out their frustrations in various ways. Some burn or throw away gifts their ex partners bought them, or demand their things back, while others do the unthinkable.

This is not strange at all, as different people have their own ways of showing resentments, especially if they had invested a lot in the relationship. By doing such, they believe it's a way of punishing thei exes and making them feel like they no longer care.

Others go an extra mile and post things on social media with an intention of humiliating their ex partners. It is common to seeing posts like "I wondered why I was always down,  kumbe I was dating the wrong person" and "More happy, peaceful and unending glow since I left pharaoh", accompanied by their good looking photos in WhatsApp statuses.

Coming across such, one can't help but smile in awe and move to the next post, knowing that the person has just moved on in a new relationship and is downgrading the previous one.

This not only happens in WhatsApp statuses but also in other social media platforms. In Tiktok, people do challenges that are often meant to put their previous relationships in bad shapes. Video clips with content like "A relationship that wasted my life took three years" and "My ex is still flexing with outfit I bought them" are popular.

Others resent by ruining relationships that their exes moved into by exposing their partners bad past and sensitive information to social media. Some even create memes, saying how their exes are dating ugly partners.

Letting off frustrations and disappointments helps one to move on. But it's important to use healthy ways that will not cause physical harm, psychological torture and other serious damages.

It is also crucial for people to end their relationships amicably and in mature ways if things don't work out for them, as this will maintain respect to avoid unnecessary future chaos, dramas and embarrassments.
